When we were still living in Brooklyn but considering moving to Peekskill, we would venture up the Hudson Line to experience what small town life might be like. During one of these early excursions we ended up at Ramenesque and were happy to discover New York City caliber ramen in our soon-to-be adopted hometown.

Three year later, Ramenesque remains the place to go in Peekskill for high quality Asian food.

The ramen is the star of the show here -- obviously --with a number of creative variations found on the menu. Our personal favorite has to be the Tom Yum Ramen, which brings Thai flavors into the traditionally Japanese dish. The combination is explosive.

The Tom Yum Ramen isn't the only dish that mixes Asian flavors -- try the Kimchi Ramen for a Korean infusion.

Beyond the ramen, we also love the Chicken Katsu Curry and the Pork and Veggie Gyoza . Wash it all down with a Kirin Ichiban beer or a pour from their sake selection.

The restaurant itself is cozy and and stylishly decorated. They're currently working on an expansion that will add more space and a bar -- it's been in the works for a few years, but looks like it's nearing completion and we can't wait to enjoy the next stage of Ramenesque!
