Peekskill's Good For You Productions brings daily videos about local efforts to do good in the age of coronavirus.

Good For You Productions, a video production company located in Peekskill's Hat Factory, has launched a web series called "A Piece of Good News" highlighting local efforts to do good in the age of coronavirus.

The videos, produced by Good For You owners Jeffery Cobelli and Natalie Chau, were created as an antidote to the stress and anxiety they noticed flooding social media as the coronavirus pandemic ramped up in the past couple of weeks. They knew there were stories out there of people staying strong and doing good in the face of the news, so they made it their mission go find those stories and share them.

The short videos, usually two to three minutes in length, are uploaded to IGTV on Instagram and YouTube the day after they're shot.

The team reached out to community leaders to find the initial subjects and from there they discovered new stories by word of mouth as the idea spread. One story focuses on Peekskill's own Caring for the Hungry and Homeless (CHHOP) and efforts to expand their food pantry to accommodate the extra need due to the pandemic.

Each interview ends with "a piece of good news" leaving the viewer with a sense of positivity and hope -- a welcome antidote to the endless stream of bleak news right now.

Well done Good For You Productions, mission accomplished.
